Moonfrye Family: Paradise Lost and Found: My First Vacation Since Giving Birth (Two Years Ago!) by Sarah Helene
It had been two years since my last real vacation. An eternity in my book. No wonder I felt tired! Or was that my two year old? While too much time had passed between my Anguillan piña colada and my present holiday (1054 days to be exact), I guess this gap in my travel timeline was normal…

Moonfrye Family: A Boy's Best Friend by Katie Hurley
We planted the seed when he was just a few weeks old. We chose carefully, placed it nearby (but not too close), and always kept it within arms reach. We made sure to bring it along in the stroller, the baby carrier, and the car.
Always in the car.
We…

Moonfrye Family: Call Me Grandma by Mary Lauren Weimer
When I think about the world my kids are growing up in compared to the world I grew up in, there are some major differences.
I had to wait an entire week to see which oversized color-blocked sweater D.J. Tanner would wear on the next episode of Full House. Thanks to Netflix and our DVR my kids can watch as many episodes of as many shows as I'll let them.
I walked to school every day. Now I wait for 30 minutes in a pickup line for my child, and have I mentioned that we live four…

Moonfrye Family: Through a Child's Eyes by Katie Hurley
People say that roses are hard to grow, that they require extra care and just the right amount of sunshine and water. Left alone, they say, roses will wilt or fail to thrive. Roses, they say, are high maintenance.
The people who say that have clearly never seen my roses.
Sometimes, at the end…

Moonfrye Family: Red Dish Moments by Sherri Kuhn
The idea seemed frivolous at first. An entire set of bright red stoneware, for use on birthdays and special occasions only. When I first saw a few of the dinner plates appear on the shelves of a local discount store, I was hooked. The deep red dishes would look so amazing in my dark wood hutch, displayed…

Moonfrye Family: What the Rain Brings by Mary Lauren Weimer
The day my daughter was born the sky broke open with rain. Water rushed down from the hills, flooding creek beds and washing over roads.
We'd arrived at the hospital in the still-dark early morning, bags packed for a two day stay. My mind wasn't on the weather.
I didn't learn about that rain until later, when soaked visitors trickled in to meet our new one.
Some had found themselves stuck on impassable streets, arrangements of pink roses and baby's breath on their laps…

Getting Creative in our own Backyard
Me and my girls love inventing new projects with everyday items we find in our house or out in our backyard. We spent hours designing all kinds of beautiful rocks and even gave some to a few special people. Enjoy!

Moonfrye Family: From Career to Stay at Home Mom: A Journey I Never Thought I'd Make by Mary Lauren Weimer
There are choices that are made after careful consideration. Others, after a lifetime of wanting and wishing, of scribbles on a notebook page.
My choice to become a stay at home mom after the birth of my third child was not a little girl's dream come true. It was a complicated cost benefit analysis that involved time and money and fevers at five am.
In the…
